Michael began his legal career in 1996 in the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office as a criminal prosecutor. As an Assistant District Attorney, he tried cases in the Superior, District and Juvenile Courts. He led grand jury investigations into major felony crimes and served on various law enforcement task forces to protect and serve the Middlesex County community. In 2002, he became a proud member of the Massachusetts State Police serving as a Detective in the Division of Investigative Services. Michael served a substantial portion of his State Police career assigned to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office where he conducted homicide investigations. He also spent six years assigned to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission where he conducted gaming regulatory investigations of casino qualifiers and casino operators and led major criminal investigations. When Michael left the State Police, he was the Unit Commander of the Gaming Enforcement Unit, supervising all State Police personnel assigned to the Gaming Commission’s headquarters as well as Encore Boston Harbor, MGM Springfield, and Plainridge Park Casino.

In 2022, Michael retired from the Massachusetts State Police as a Captain and returned to the full-time practice of law. During his twenty years as a member of the Massachusetts State Police, he maintained a part-time civil law practice which included civil litigation and estate planning. He also taught criminal law at municipal and state police training academies. He was honored to serve as a faculty member for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education programs for prosecutors and criminal defense attorneys.

Michael’s practice includes a strong emphasis in estate planning especially for those working as first responders. Working together with clients to protect assets, minimize tax liability and preserve the family nest egg has become his passion. He is dedicated to serving the families of those who protect and serve our communities.

Given his criminal and gaming experience, Michael is a go-to for clients whose matters intersect with criminal law and other regulatory matters. He is experienced in grand jury matters and clerk’s hearings, as well as trial work.
